The company claims that they give back 5% to the Make A Wish Foundation. What an incredible heart this company seems to have. Their pricing is very reasonable for everyone to have the chance to get in the driver seat of that luxury car that they normally wouldn’t imagine ever getting on their own.

The deals and discounts that AVIS provides are pretty awesome as well. There are not only regular discounts and great pricing, but they offer business discounts. Which this comes in handy for corporate events and traveling.

Franchising Details on AVIS

Deciding on a franchise business can be extremely overwhelming. There are thousands of options out there to choose from and it’s hard to even decide where to start.

Well, once you’ve narrowed down to the industry you want to work in, next you need to do your research. When it comes to research, there are a few things you’ll need to consider.

Whether or not the company has had a good rate of growth can determine whether or not there is interest in the franchise or if people were even getting any profit from the experience.

When we take a look at the growth of AVIS, it’s not too extreme. In fact, there is actually a decrease in the number of outlets that are running. In 2010, there were a total of 292 operating outlets. That number decreased to 286 in 2016.

Now that we know the growth rate of this company, we need to check into the turnover rate. Since the growth decreased, we’re hoping to see this turnover rate as low.

If the number is too high, that could indicate that there were a lot of terminations of the agreement. This could mean that the franchisees may not have gotten much profit from the business.

And you wouldn’t want to get into a business that would waste your investment. Fortunately, the turnover rate is 5.9, which isn’t too bad. Depending on the reasoning behind this number, it could go either as a positive or a negative.

Your best bet would be to ask the company certain questions such as how many outlets terminated or transferred their agreement.

Is the cost of investment worth the risk? You tell me. The initial franchise fee for AVIS is $25,000, but the total investment will be between $750,000 and $1.6 million.

It’s a pretty big range. Especially since you are only signing into a 10-year agreement. Yet, the initial agreement term is a required 10 years and you can renew the agreement for another 5 years.

During those 10 years, you’ll also be responsible for paying a 7.5% royalty fee that is based on your gross revenue. That royalty rate is pretty high compared to most other companies in this industry.

Heck, it’s high compared to any industry. So that’s an important factor to keep in mind when making your final decision.

In business, it is very important to consider the income. This is vital because it is the blood just as you need air to breathe to live. In this industry, it is a must for every small business owner, just like you, to consider a few details—but with most significance.
