Why Some Franchisors Don't Grow
Posted by

At the recently concluded Franchise Leadership and Development Conference, Gary Gardner, Chairman and Co-founder of Franchise Update Media Group presented the results of their annusl Mystery Shopping Survey, which involved franchisors being contacted by highly qualified franchise candidates.

The results indicate why some franchisors have difficulty growing their franchise program. Moreover it reflects serious operational flaws on the part of certain franchise systems.

Consider the following statistics revealed in Gary's presentation:

·        Only 15% of sales staff was available for the initial candidate call

·        45% of candidates calls ended up in voice mail or reached the receptionist

·        14% of callers were referred to the franchisors website

·        34% of sales staff never returned the call

·        Only 34% asked the candidate for the lead source

·        49% failed ask for the candidates name

·        47% didn't ask for the candidates phone number

Franchisors should review their candidate intake process and make sure they are operating the right way. Click here to order a copy of the report
