Here is some recent news:

  • Syndicated News reported that the wives of two former ERA franchisees have filed a lawsuit against the franchisor salespeople claiming that the wives were provided false profitability information regarding the ERA franchise.
  • U.S. Appeals Court compares Girl Scout Council to Dunkin Donuts while invoking Wiconsin franchise law. Court claims that effort to split the local group up would violate Wiconsin Fair Dealership Act. From the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Sentinel.
  • A plan to track and control hospital Medicare costs would be a benefit for home care agencies. This article from the NY Times presents details of how the Federal Government will try to control healthcare costs. Since patient re-admissions could be costly to hospitals, home care agencies that provide skilled services could benefit from this program.
