McDonalds Announces Plans to Hire 50,000 Employees
Posted by

Leading franchise restaurant chain McDonald's has announced plans to hire 50,000 people at a one day hiring event scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th. McDonalds and it's franchisees are looking to staff new crews and management positions with the 50,000 new hires. Full and part-time positions will be available at participating U.S. restaurants.

"Our restaurant employees are the foundation of our business. They are the men and women who interact with our customers every day, enhance the McDonald's experience and continue to help make our business strong," said Jan Fields, president, McDonald's USA. "Our national hiring event is an opportunity to invite more people across the country to join our team, and learn that a McJob is one with career growth and endless possibilities."

Fields has had a long relationship with McDonalds since beginning in an entry-level position at a McDonalds restaurant. Its reported that more than 50 percent of McDonald's franchisees and 75 percent of restaurant managers started out as crew members within the chain.

The event if successful could help provide a boost to the economy since job growth is the number 1 priority.
