Burger King Loses Round One to Miami Franchisee Represented by Zarco
Posted by

An interesting decision in a lawsuit between Burger King and its Miami based franchisee has been reported in numerous outlets.

Burger King Franchisee Al Cabrera operates 10 BK locations and he's refused to install new cash registers. The franchisee is represented by noted franchise attorney Robert Zarco. Mr. Zarco successfully represented Cold Stone Creamery and certain franchisees in efforts to stop CNBC from continuing to air its franchise documentary "Behind the Counter."

In the BK case, the judge refused to allow BK to obtain a temporary injunction that would have forced Mr. Cabrera to close four of his BK locations. Attorney Zarco continues to gather headlines when it comes to the franchise industry. It will be interesting to see where this case leads to. There could be significant impact upon franchisor rights. Read more in this report from the Miami Herald.
